The original plan was to just touch up the door, I even contacted the company that built the home to get the paint colors. Then after talking to the Sherwin Williams expert, I decided I didn’t want to spend $50 on supplies to repaint the whole door as they recommended. I didn’t even like the color! I happened to have several cans of Bauhaus Gold I had been saving for another project, so I thought….what the hey? Let’s give it a try.
So, we took the door down and removed the hardware and I went to town with the spray paint. I was careful to do smooth even strokes to get even coverage. It worked!

Love it! Would make me happy, too
it looks awesome! i plan to paint our doors soon… soon. like when i get through the other projects that keep derailing me. but before it gets too hot.
what a difference!

Ha! You painted your door the color of a number 2 pencil!
Love it …

I love the color
))) gonna do it with mine, also what kind of material is your door made out of? thanks
I’m not sure! I know it’s not solid wood though because, there are some deep scratches in it that I puttied over, and a mystery fiber texture was underneath:0)
What a fun door colour! I have a can of that paint so I know exactly what it would look like! How could you not smile coming home to that each day?

P.S. Your blog name is SO cute!
This looks so great! I, too, live in a drab, brown, stucco house, and our front door blends right in. One of the things on my to-do list is to paint it with a pop of color. I think it makes such a huge difference in how your entry looks. I was thinking a nice blue, but seeing your yellow is making me think twice!
Do it! My sister painted hers a dark teal, and it looks awesome too!
The door looks terrific! Love the mat too. Hugs and happy weekend wishes. P.S> Happy St Patty’s Day
I love the way your yellow door looks!!! I’m all for changing things up a bit even if the finished result isn’t “perfect” – at least it makes it better than its original state. Good for you!
I LOVE brightly colored doors… I think they just make the whole house stand out.
It’s so bright and beautiful – yellow was the right choice for sure! Thanks for linking up to the Repurpose-Remodel-Reveal Transformation party!
