Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder sifted
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 10 tablespoons butter salted
  • 1 3/4 cups golden brown sugar firmly packed
  • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a 9x13 cake pan with parchment paper or foil sprayed with non stick cooking spray. This will allow the brownies to be lifted out and sliced after cooling.

  2. In a medium sized bowl, sift unsweetened cocoa powder. Then whisk in flour, baking soda, and salt.

  3. In a small bowl, whisk together eggs and vanilla extract and set aside.

  4. Melt butter over low heat in a medium sized skillet. Stir in golden brown sugar and let combine with melted butter over low heat. Stir in cocoa powder mixture, mixture will be lumpy and thick.

  5. Remove skillet from heat and stir in egg and vanilla mixture. Finally, stir in chocolate chips and scrape brownie batter into baking pan. Batter will be thick. Bake for about 20 minutes until brownie batter is just set and not jiggly. Do not over bake, brownies will continue baking as they cool. Let cool and dust with powdered sugar.
