Snowman Top Hat Cookies

Servings 4 dozen cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 10 tablespoon of butter cut into pieces
  • 8 ounces of semisweet chocolate chips about 1/3 a cup
  • 3/4 cup of sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
  • 48 marshmallows you'll need two bags
  • 2 pounds of chocolate melting wafers
  • Christmas Nonpareils
  • 48 Mini Candy Cane Cupcake Toppers

Instructions

  1. Line baking sheets with paramagnet paper and set aside.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt.
  4. In a microwave safe bowl, melt butter and chocolate chips together until smooth. Melt for 30 second, then in 10 second intervals so that chocolate does not burn.
  5. Add sugar, egg and vanilla to chocolate mixture and whisk until smooth.
  6. Pour chocolate and sugar mixture into dry ingredients and stir until smooth.
  7. Measure 1/2 tablespoon of cookie dough and roll into balls.
  8. Gently flatten cookie dough balls into disc shape.
  9. Bake about eight minutes,
  10. Remove cookies and immediately press marshmallow on top of cookie.
  11. Once cookies are baked, melt chocolate wafers according to package directions
  12. On a wire rack, spoon chocolate over cookies.
  13. Sprinkle with nonpareils and add candy cane decorations.
  14. Let dry until chocolate is set.
