I’ve mentioned before that googly eyes are one of my favorite crafting supplies, and I think you guys love them too! My googly eyes Halloween wreath is still very popular. Of course, I couldn’t resist incorporating googly eyes into my Valentine’s Day projects. This Googly Eyes Valentine’s Day Garland is so easy and so fun. You can display it on your mantel, or use it as a cute photo prop. My niece was sweet enough to be my official garland holder upper.
Unpainted wooden craft hearts
Acrylic craft paints
Googly eyes/wiggle eyes, variety pack
Twine or string
Drill holes through top, center of heart shape. Make sure your hole is large enough to accommodate your string. (I painted first, and had some chipping during drilling.) Then paint heart shapes with several coats of acrylic craft paints.
Let hearts dry, then string onto twine and double tie the top so the hearts are facing forward rather than sideways. Hot glue eyes to front of hearts. Vary sizes and placement to give the garland personality.
The red one-eyed heart is my favorite. He’s like a little love monster on a string, looking right at you.
For an even quicker variation of this project, try using hearts cut out of card stock instead of wood shapes.
