I’m so excited about these cookies. Cherry and chocolate is one of my all-time favorite combinations, and the addition of dark chocolate to these cookies makes them really special. Though you could easily substitute any type of chips, white chocolate chips would be wonderful as well!
Cherry M&M’s are also available around Christmas, so these would be great for holiday baking.

These taste absolutely amazing!!!! I will be sending them to school for the classroom valentines day party. Thanks for making me look like a rock star!!
This is a great base recipe for a chocolate cookie. I used Hershey’s cookies ‘n’ cream instead of the M&M’s. I used A candy bar and a half, chopped. When I made these I was uncharacteristically craving a crispier cookie, so I omitted the additional egg yolk and baked them a bit longer. I tried half the batch at regular baking time (still minus the egg yolk). It turned out great both ways. Regarding the butter, I just melted one stick, which turned out to be just shy of 13 tablespoons (once it was melted). It was perfectly fine.
Sounds yummy!
