Microwave Rice Krispies Treats for one are made just like the classic recipe, but you can whip this up in a microwave in about a minute. This recipe is perfect for kids and teens. They get to make a treat using the microwave, just for themselves. No need to turn on the stove or oven, and they can practice measuring and mixing.
My chocolate chip cookie in a cup and microwave brownie in a cup are popular with young chefs too!
To make Microwave Rice Krispies Treats for one:
Start by melting 1/2 a tablespoon of butter in a microwave safe bowl. Then add four large marshmallows and microwave again for about twenty more seconds. The marshmallows will start puffing up, so keep an eye on them so they don’t come over the edge of the bowl.
Once you remove the bowl from the microwave, they will deflate again. Stir the melted butter and marshmallows together until smooth. Mix in 1 cup of Rice Krispies cereal and stir until well blended.
You can eat it warm straight from the bowl, or spoon into another container or cup to cool. Once cool, you can pop it out and enjoy.
This is a really good sized Rice Krispies treat, so you can indulge or share if you are so inclined. Either way, it makes a fun and easy single serving treat!

Yum yum! I only have mini marshmallows. How many of those do you think I need? 🙂
Good question! I haven’t tried it with minis yet, but I think about 1/2 a cup of mini marshmallows will work. Let me know how it goes!!!! :0)
1 large marshmallow = 13 mini <3
This is SO amazing Melissa!
Seriously? What an awesome idea!!!
I just made these in about a minute total with about 5 minutes cooling time in the fridge. I used mini marshmallows (about 1/2 a cup tightly packed.) They came out FABULOUS! Thanks!!! Now to figure out the WW+ points per treat, lol.
This is awesome!! It would totally limit me from eating the entire pan! 😀
I know, right? ;0)

I used chocolate ‘mallows and Cocoa Krispies for an ultra sweet chocolatey treat. 🙂 It hit the spot. I like that it’s just enough for one.
These were soooooooo good!! My three boys agree!! I’ve been looking for new ideas for afternoon snacks. I think the treats in a cup are just the thing!!
I think it might be dangerous knowing how to do this.
