Last weekend, some of my best blog friends and I had the chance to check out Disneyland’s new Festival of Holidays and it was beyond amazing. Our favorite part was no doubt the food! We had the best time cruising the kiosks that line Disney’s California Adventure Park and tasting small plate offerings of diverse cultures and traditions. If you have ever been to Disneyland’s Food and Wine Festival, the set up is similar. Fourteen different kiosks that feature food and drink, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, from different cultures around the world.
First let me start off by saying it was an absolutely beautiful day, perfect for relaxing and sampling yummy food.
The fact that I was there with good friends made the experience even better.
Festival of Holidays is the perfect day date or girls day out! The Festive Foods Marketplace is made up of 14 kiosks that line the walkway along Pacific Warf and is a beautiful place to hang out for the afternoon or evening. In addition to the food marketplace, there is live festival entertainment throughout the day. We had an absolute blast sharing food and taking pictures. Here are some of our favorites from the day:
Kiosk 1 – Heritage Cottage – We tried the Braised Beef Short Rib and the Vanilla Rice Pudding. Both were delicious. I especially loved the rich sauce on the short rib and the fluffy mashed potatoes.
Kiosk 2 – Making Spirits Bright – This was one of the busier kiosks! I tried the White Wine Tasting Flight and it was great. So fun to have a mini wine tasting! They also offered a red version.
Kiosk 3 Nosh & Nibbles – My dear friend Kellie from Nest of Posies tried the Rueben Potato Smash and let me have a sample. It was delicious! Like a gourmet tater tot:0)
Kiosk 4 Good Fortune’s Feast – Ann Marie from White House Black Shutters tried this amazing looking Adobo Pork Bao. She loved it and I’m really regretting not taking her up on her offer of a bite.
Kiosk 7 Mistletoe Morsels – Holiday Swedish Meatballs – This was one of my favorites! A must-try! Tender, flavorful meatballs in a rich creamy white sauce and a touch of berries for sweetness. So delicious!
Kiosk 8 Southern Home Holidays – Southern Mac & Cheese- My sweet and smart friend Kimberly from A Night Owl Blog was kind enough to let me sample some of her Mac & Cheese and it was very good!
Kiosk 9 – Winter Sliderland – Kimberly also loved the Roasted Turkey Slider. Turkey, gravy, cranberry and stuffing on a slider? Yes, please! I loved the Praline and Bourbon Whoopie Pie. The hard cider was also one of my favorites!
Kiosk 11 – Yuletide Yummies – This was one of our favorite kiosks by far! It has so many yummy goodies! The Mini Turkey Pot Pie was so tasty and the perfect size! We also tried the Gingerbread Bundt Cake, the Mocha Yule Log and the Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate. The Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate with it’s gorgeous handmade marshmallows was one of the very best things I tried all day. So rich and delicious with a touch of warm spices. We missed out on the Frozen Hot Chocolate, it must be good if it was sold out!
Kiosk 14 – Treats for Santa – This kiosk has all the treats you can take to-go or buy as gifts. The cookies were darling and perfect for taking home. I also tried the Peppermint White Hot Chocolate. The peppermint marshmallows were gorgeous, but it wasn’t as rich as the Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate.
Disneyland was kind enough to provide vouchers for us to try some of the amazing food from Festival of Holidays and share our thoughts with our readers.
