It’s the time of year when my skin starts to feel very dry. It’s endured the the dry winter air, and needs something extra to bring it back to life. This DIY Face Scrub is the perfect fix. It’s only two ingredients, baking soda and water. That’s it! But when you mix them together and start to exfoliate, you know you have found the perfect face scrub.
The texture is heavenly, not too rough and not too fine. I’ve been using this about twice a week for the last several weeks, and I absolutely love it. Plus, I always have the ingredients on hand.
Directions
Combine 1/4 cup of baking soda with two tablespoons of water. Mix well.
Use mixture to gently exfoliate clean, damp face. Avoid eye area and rinse well.
Note: Splash your face with water before exfoliating.
Enjoy your soft and smooth skin!

Melissa, this scrub sounds so easy to make! Thanks for the recipe I’m going to make it this weekend. 🙂
Great idea! Wonder how long can i keep the unused portions?
Mine has been great for several days in a tightly sealed jar like the one I have pictured. If it’s left open, which I have done by accident, it dries out pretty quickly! :0) Thanks!
This is exactly what I have been looking for! Going to mix it up tonight. Thank you for sharing.
Ah, yes, and add a drip of your favorite essential oil, too! Perfect! Thanks!
Is there anything i can put in it to make it smell good?
I’m sure you could add a small amount of essential oil, but I haven’t actually tried that and I am not sure how my (or your) skin would react.
I love the jars you use for this – do you know the name and/or size of them?
Thanks, Kelly! I believe these are the Ball widemouth half pint jars. I picked them up at Target.
