Easy Homemade Eggnog

  • 4 egg yolks from pasteurized eggs
  • 1/3 cup of sugar
  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of freshly grated nutmeg


  1. In the bowl of a stand mixer, mix egg yolks on medium speed.
  2. Slowly add sugar just until well combined. Eggs should be a light yellow color.
  3. Scrape down sides of bowl as needed.
  4. Turn mixer to low and add in milk, heavy cream, vanilla and nutmeg.
  5. Chill and serve.

Recipe Notes

Use a whole nutmeg, freshly grated on a microplane for best flavor.
