Valentine’s Day Heart Shaped Charcuterie Box – switch out a classic box of chocolates to make a fun charcuterie box!
Valentine’s Day Heart Charcuterie Box
This charcuterie box has high quality chocolates, salami, prosciutto, smoked gouda, creamy brie cheese, nuts, and fresh fruit for a delicious Valentine charcuterie for two. A fun and creative twist on the traditional box of chocolates. I love the pairing of cheese and chocolate, so I took it a step further and added some of our favorite charcuterie board ingredients. I used my husband’s favorite combination of salami and smoked gouda and my favorite combination of brie and prosciutto and added a tiny jar of hot honey! Serve with fresh fruit and a warm baguette.

Tips for Making a Charcuterie Heart Box
- You only need a very small amount of each item so shopping the bulk bins is a great option.
- To make cutting the cheese into heart shapes easier, you can freeze them for a few minutes to firm them up.
- Keep the chocolates your remove and serve them in a small bowl.
How to Make the Prosciutto and Salami Roses
How to Make a Salami Rose – I have a post about how to make a salami rose, however this box calls for a smaller salami rose, so I’m using a different method.
- Fold eight salami pieces in half and lay them in a straight line slightly overlapping.
- Roll them from the end into a tight spiral with the curved part facing up.
How to Make a Prosciutto Rose
- Carefully separate pieces of prosciutto and lay flat. Fold lengthwise in half.
- Lay two of the folded pieces of prosciutto out in a straight line with a slight overlap.
- Roll into a tight spiral with the edges facing up.
- Salami
- Prosciutto
- Brie Bites
- Smoked Gouda or Cheddar
- Mixed Nuts
- Yogurt Dipped Pretzels
- Raspberries
- Blackberries
- Grapes
- Hot Honey or Fig Jam
- Baguette or Crackers
-
Remove and set aside about 2/3 of the chocolates to make room for the charcuterie ingredients.
-
Assemble salami roses and prosciutto roses and arrange in box.
-
Use a small heart shaped cookie cutter to cut brie and gouda. If needed, place cheeses in the freezer for a few minutes to make cutting easier. Place heart shaped cheese in box.
-
Arrange rest of ingredients as shown filling in with extra berries.
