Hot Chocolate Dessert Charcuterie Board

December 10, 2018 by Melissa 9 Comments

This Hot Chocolate Dessert Charcuterie Board is just beautiful and sure to be a hit at your next party! Piled high with soft marshmallows and loaded with yummy hot chocolate toppings, everyone will have a great time making their own hot chocolate creations.

Dessert Charcuterie Board

Charcuterie Boards are a huge trend right now! After making my Harvest Charcuterie Board, I couldn’t stop thinking of more fun ideas for the holidays. Technically charcuterie boards are made with cured meats, so I guess I would call this a dessert board in the style of a charcuterie board. ?

I really had a lot of fun putting this hot chocolate charcuterie board together and it was so easy! The only thing I made from scratch was my hot chocolate, using my slow cooker hot chocolate recipe. If you use this recipe, I recommend doubling it and using an extra large slow cooker or two smaller slow cookers.

My family and I had a lot of fun building over-the-top hot chocolate creations with all the toppings, which was something I hadn’t even planned on! It was just something that happened naturally when there are so many topping choices.

Keep a large slow cooker right next to the board filled with hot chocolate so everyone can serve themselves.

I set out caramel and chocolate syrup next to the board as well. I was looking for some kind of container to serve the syrups in initially, but I couldn’t think of anything that would not create a big mess. Instead, I used extra wrapping paper to make the syrup bottles a little cuter and have them blend in with the theme.

These big pink puffy marshmallows where my inspiration for the board. I found them at my Nordstrom Rack, and they are so big and soft! I was expecting them to be peppermint, but they actually have a light strawberry flavor. Everyone loved them! These look like the same marshmallow twist and have great reviews!

I prepared the board with some hot chocolate pairings in mind:

Hot Chocolate Combinations

Peppermint Hot Chocolate

Peppermint Mocha Hot Chocolate

Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate

Coconut Caramel Hot Chocolate

Caramel Mocha Hot Chocolate

Cookies and Cream Hot Chocolate

This board is large and perfect for serving a big group. You could easily scale this down for a smaller group.

I used my own mugs, but for a bigger group, I would use paper coffee cups. I always keep an eye out for cute to- go coffee cups in the dollar section at Target. I’ll usually buy them if I see them because they never have them when I need them!

For a grown-up party, a few alcoholic mixers would be a fun idea! You guys, I found this cute bottle of peppermint schnapps at my grocery store and it was less than six bucks!
